After you select your hardware, Proficy will start to build out a generic framework for the hardware. platforms are located in the “QuickPanel” submenu. Note that 90/30 and 90/70 platforms are located in the “GE Intelligent Platforms Controller” submenu. From the Navigator Panel, right click your project name and select the hardware platform you are using. Start with creating a new EMPTY project in Proficy. Importing a Project from LogicMaster / VersaPro / Quick Designer You will need to double click your restored file to open it. Note that restoring a project just adds it to your navigator tree. Go through the installation process for the software including installing the latest version of Proficy License Client software. This option gives you the best of both worlds. This is a nice option if you use multiple software from GE (Cimplicity, Proficy, etc.) and want a hardware key BUT you still want to change what software is licensed on the keys in the future.
SSL Keys are physical USB keys, but they can be reprogrammed in the field. They are similar in operation to the keys GE has provided in the past. M5 licenses are pre-programmed USB keys from GE. New computers do not have a true serial port for interfacing to older PLCs.
